If you mean an allison AT545, it is not hard or terribly expensive to get a housing and flex plates to bolt the two together. I-H does this in some of their trucks. You will also need a different starter. Electrical connections and speedometer are not tough either, but if you have computer connections, this could be a nightmare. You will lose overdrive and unless you get a 545 with a lock-up torgue converter (late model 545's with a L added to the model number, I think) you will lose that also. I have had much better service from allison transmissions than even std transmissions, but I wonder if the swap and loss of fuel milage would be a good trade for durability. Ford did make a C-6 for the 6.9 engine, it can be idenified by a bigger bellhousing than normal, the top bolts are much higher than a std C-6. This would be a lot easier and the C-6 is not a bad transmission, but no overdrive and maybe no lock-up.
