Subject: Cleaned rye seed...treat for weevil?

Northeast Missouri
We're about to get some cereal rye seed cleaned and I wonder, should we treat it?

I know some of the old cleaners around here (many are now out of business) used to treat cleaned seed wheat with malathion--you could smell it in the bags, or in bulk.

Is rye as susceptible to weevil, etc., as wheat is? Is something else better than malathion?
