Subject: RE: NH L 785 won't start

If you by-passed the seat switch at the seat connector instead of the seat switch the system will not allow the unit to start. The harness from the connector to the seat switch has a resister in it. The black box has a service/operate switch on the lower front corner. Switch it to the service position and see if it will start. It should start but the hyd will remain locked. The following information is from memory and may not be completely correct. On the lower rear corner of the black box are four small lights. With the service/operate switch in the operate position and seat switch reconnected, sit in the seat. One of the lights should come on, fasten the seat belt and the second light should come on, turn the ign switch on and the third light should come on. Turning the ign switch to the start position should light the fourth light.

There is a 6A circuit breaker in the engine compartment. If you go to the NH online parts catalogs you will find the wiring diagram in one of the parts diagrams for the electrical system.
