North East IL | Went from Morris down to Paris, IL on a quick trip. Pretty amazing what we saw, from what I would call, OK to just plain miserable.
I would say in general, the worst hit, and when its bad is bad, from my travels in the northern part of the state is between I-74 and I-80, east of I39. so a pretty good area just here. Not counting south. There will be a lot of corn that will be less than 150, and fair amount that will be less than 100. but there will be those fields that will do ok, but wont say 200.
Im not an expert from the air, but have flown enough in my lifetime to know whats good, bad, excellent corn.
I did come to find that the excellent corn is hard to see tasseled at 1000 feet off the ground, but when the corn isn't in as good as shape its easier to pick out the stage of the corn.
