Thicker and softer gasket material with sticky Permatex adhesive on both faces of the gaskets. In my parts book there is a newer gasket number for the original and this book was printed long ago. Probably been substituted several times since and not always the softest material. Bolt lengths also vary with engine serial number as does the bypass plumbing, but the risers are the same. Just taking the rises out for grinding their top opens up another gasketed connection to allow more leaks.
