NW Iowa
If the traders farmed in northern Iowa b/t Hwy 71 and Waterloo (or other select areas too) they'd know from past experience what tons of rain in May-June will do. Your 2nd pic says alot---yes the ears but the stalks in the background mainly. Wet wet wet and that kind of damage will never be corrected. Sidedressing, cultivating, timely rains after it dries up helps some but what's done is done.
