Dayton, IA | Someone posted on here a while back about how much of a pain it was to keep a bedded barn clean with all this moisture and if it was worth it, maybe better to just feed in outside lots. I never fed cattle in a dirt lot, but I would have to say these roofs and concrete make the job easy. Can be a lot of hours in loader moving tons of manure, but I couldn't imagine trying to deal with a dirt lot that has been saturated for a month straight. Concrete in Iowa makes a lot of sense because we have the ability to make the animals comfortable every day of the year.
