Turner County, SD | National Music Museum on USD campus in the old Carnegie Library is well worth seeing. I am not a musician, but spent several hours there this summer and still did not see everything. If you like a short hike and a bit of history, Spirit Mound is four miles north of Vermillion on Hwy 19. It is neat to know that you are standing where Lewis & Clark stood while on their expedition up the Missouri River. Take the bridge south across the river into Nebraska from Vermillion. Head east toward South Sioux City and stop at Ponca State Park. It gives you a nice view of the river and land on the other side. | |
