Appomattox/Fredericksburg, VA | I've sold plenty for poultry. Cargill and others. They use it in making the pellets. They hold together better with wheat added is what they told me. Something to do with the starch content. Back in 2012 they were paying more for feed wheat than milling wheat.
That being said there are cutoffs in quality where they won't take it. Most just check moisture and test weight. Lot of low quality wheat on the east coast this year. Broker called today talking about cancelling contracts and what not. |
