S.E. Iowa | A few years ago my son baled some dry. The cores turned black and the cows would eat to it then not eat any more. They would probably getsome of the bad stuff in them and the manure looked like they had cocidosis, almost jet black. At the same time we square baled some and they got moved a time or two before we put them in the barn. I had 7 calves that I raised at my home here. I fed a 1/3 bale of straw, 1/3 bale oat hay/ and 1/3 bale of very nice alfalfa. They would dig thru the alfalfa to get to the oat hay. | |
