Subject: RE: how late can you guys up north go on beans ?

I know our DC beans really start dropping off after 7/18-10. A few years ago we planted some dc beans on 7 / 10 and got rained out. Finished 7/15. The beans planted on the 10th made 33 bpa, those on the 15th were under 10. FWIW, same field. Later it gets the fuller maturity beans we plant. If I didn't have crop insurance I would risk it & plant. With crop ins I would take the PP. Don't let pride stand in your way of taking a ins payment. If you're like us you've paid in a lot more premiums than what we've received back. Even in my worst year I never got enough back to cover my premium.
