NW Missouri | We burn... then mow/chainsaw if needed. Depending on the type of trees growing, the burn might kill them. Plus after you burn, it's real easy to see what spots need the bush hog and/or chainsaw.
On this subject (sorry, not trying to hijack the thread), but has anyone ever tried burning CRP during the summer? Our local conservation department habitat engineer created a burn plan for our acres. He says that burning in the summer will really set the native grass back and allow for other species to take off to add diversity. But something about burning grass when it's 90+ degrees out seems crazy! | |
