No, they prove that it uses a very wide lens on the camera which distorts the edges of the picture.  You have to be in something that flies 50-60k feet higher before the curvature of the earth starts to be visible to the naked eye.  BTW, I'm going to guess that it it's like us, the compaction is from traffic loading/unloading and not from the bags themselves.
