This is why plant height is a concern when choosing refuge varieties. I have always had much better luck with short hybrids in the field than the test plots showed.  Hopefully the tall corn will benefit enough to offset the reduced yield of the short corn.  As was said, this is also why a seed rep will try and put a tall corn in a test plot.
