Southwest Illinois | You must be living right. From May 8 until July 5 we planted 2 days. We started Sunday evening and finally finished last night but I'm not convinced we are done. I know very few people who carry what I would consider significant crop insurance on beans so prevent plant is not much of an option. I think you will see one more push in bean planting as there are some areas to the southeast of us who are in worse shape. To me unless you have 85% coverage or more I don't see how prevent plant is a good option until the tail end of July. Of course the 6 to 10 and 8 to 14 day forecasts are calling for above normal rainfall. The local forecast for the next 14 days has a 50% chance of rain or greater, for 5 of those days(and 2 more days with a 40% chance) so it's anyones guess when this will end. | |
