Subject: RE: pig weed in soybeans

Faunsdale, AL
Resource is pretty cheap and does a good job on any broadleaf weeds I have used it on. I have some fields with a lot of some variety of amaranth in years past when we were growing corn for silage and I used resource with the post emerge glyphosate until a neighbor said just the roundup would handle it. He was right and I have just used Valor and Powermax at planting and then Powermax at 1 qt before they canopied to clean up anything that came through the pre.

This year i planted into a thick stand of yellow/meadow foxtail that grows in early spring and goes to seed in May here. Beans are very clean except for some grasses. Almost not worth spraying, but I am sure they would have gotten pretty wooly by harvest time if I hadn't .
