Subject: Long distance silage hauling

North shore of Lake Ontario
We finished up a small chopping job on Sat.morning. Round trip distance was 51 km or about 30 miles. This was the furthest we have ever hauled. 3 trucks did a little over 3 loads per hour. Hauling oat/peas mixture which looked fantastic in the field being about 4 ft high but only made about 3 tons per acre.
Pretty expensive feed when you add up the harvesting costs.
