Great Lakes State | IIRC the middle wire was broke on the 4640 here, after I repaired it it would run for a short period then stop.
It was low on freon and after I topped it off it ran just fine.
In my case it was the low side pressure switch that cut off the compressor.
EDIT: I'm not clear on what you meant by bypassed. The breaker itself using one of the 3 wires or if you went to another 12v source.
