We have a thermal imagining scope on an AR-10 and was wanting to have this gun along side of the AR in case you stirred up a pack of them and the other one jammed. Or like the other night when a sow and a litter of piglets walked up in front of my son 30 yards away. Really that night I wish I'd had my 1100 12 guage and some BB or #4buckshot. I have a hard time seeing with iron sights with my glasses in low light. Otherwise, I'd just take it straight out the box and walk side of the thermal scope. Right now we are just carrying a pistols for backup or someone with a AR-15. You may be right, I might just need to turn the SOCOM into another gun.
