St-Eugene, Ontario
Why not rye or winter triticale? And then you also have the option to chop it if you want next spring. I have chopped rye and winter triticale that was drilled after corn silage ( 1 year of each so not a whole lot of experience) but on my farm winter triticale blew the rye away. Chopped it on June 2nd this year at the same time I did first cut alfalfa and the triticale was darn near double the tonnage of the alfalfa. It was just about up to my chest when I cut it. I can only imagine there is a huge root system underneath that. And you can still throw a few pounds of tillage radish in there too if you want
