Michigan
It's a tough call and it's different based on what soils you are working with. Last year we had some really sandy stuff we didn't get enough N on to start with, then we got lots of rain. The corn was yellow and uneven with spindly stalks. We got back in about V7 and threw tons of N at it. It greened back up nicely by harvest, but the damage had already been done. Corn had little ears and poor stand from early season stress.

Now fast forward to this year. We had some heavy ground with iffy drainage get wet and stay wet. Struggled to get the sidedress on. Finally did, along with some warm dry weather and most of it has really turned around. I don't see much yeild loss from that bc the entire time the plants looked healthy just a little oxygen and N deprived. There are a few small spots on the end where there is compaction and standing water that I doubt come back, and the pinch rows this year are horrible in certain soils. Par for the course i guess.
