Subject: RE: Looks don't mean 'nothing ~

central - east central Minnesota -

btman - 7/2/2015 13:51 Am i the only one who likes conventional tilled beans over no till beans? i usally disk early then finish ahead lightly before planter. I think the beans come up better with less trash and seem to get better early growth. Anyone else out there? Alot of conventional tilled beans in my area. some no till to but the conventional for sure look better .

It's a perception thing . . . . if you really go out and compare - the conventional beans to no-till beans, pull the plants and place them on the tail gate of the pick up, you would NOT be able to tell which plant came from where.

The trash makes the field look "ugly", until (around here), late July to Aug.
Bottom line, what gives me the best return on investment ? No-till fills my wallet, much more then conventional.

I till some fields, that had to have the erosion washes fixed . . .  they actually looked uglier then the beans no-tilled across the fence line.

Early season field/plant look's don't mean 'nothing . . . . .  The prettiest is harvest season, when my wallet turns that Emerald Green ~
