Traverse City MI | A little background first. Were making around 175 acres of hay a year mostly grass but were seeding some down with more alfalfa. Were cutting with a 12' JD 1600 mower. We are round bailing probably 60-70% and the rest is made into small squares for the horse market. We seem to be having a hard time getting hay dry the last couple years. How much quicker are you guys seeing your hay dry after tedding the hay? How soon after cutting it do you tedd the hay? We use bar rakes right now. My concern would be how well you can pick up the hay after it's run over and not pick up dirt and small rocks. Thanks. | |
