SC Iowa
Don't think so...

Actually, the plant did not flood......we get our water out of the Des Moines River (7+ myn gallons per day) and clean it up just like a city would do.....

We are downstream from Red Rock Dam/Lake and the Corps has been running the outflow at about 22,000 CFS as they manage the lake......we had 5-8 inches of rain in parts of the watershed below the dam, and a stream that normally flows at less than 500 CFS started dumping dirty water into the river at over 50,000 CFS,,,,,the Corps reduced the outflow at the dam to less than 5,000 CFS to help minimize flooding, but that reduced the amount of "clean" water coming down the river....

net/net, we lost our ability to clean up the river water as fast as needed to run the plant, and eventually had to slow down and stop processing for the better part of a day.....this is about 5th time I can remember this happening in the 24 years I have been there...

these problems tend to happen quickly, and then the water cleans up quickly and we can go back to processing corn...

always something in the corn milling biz
