Subject: RE: Payback on down pressure control- Air force vs delta force

NE Nebraska
The problem with many air force users is that they only monitor 5-10 rows on an entire planter, not every row. Field view will only show readings on rows with rums and weigh pins. Delta force users have a SRM and a weigh pin on every row giving us much more information. Next, it depends on which map you look at on field view. The margin map shows how much weight was on the pin and should be very consistent with DF and varies with conditions on AF. Applied downforce is what is actually being applied to that individual row on DF or across the entire planter on AF. If you feel your planting conditions are very uniform across your planter and you just want to adjust, or tweak your settings versus springs, AF might work well. If you have any doubts, DF will work in any condition if the check book allows.
