central ohio..between Springville and Millbrook. | This was my 1st year trying no till into hay ground so I am by no means an expert.
I ordered a set of spiked dawn wheels this spring but my dealer was a llil slow getting them.in and I had 40 acres planted with the smooth closing wheels before we put them on. It was amazing the difference. It was dry here this spring so the smooth wheels couldn't close the slot with less down pressure and when I cranked up the down pressure to the max they would close..but they mashed the soil so hard the corn struggled to emerge. The ground we used the spiked wheels on had corn emerging 7 days sooner than the 1st stuff and the stand has looked better all year.
Good luck!
