Subject: corn right over NH3 band

Central Iowa
I've always been a "feed the microbes" guy to reduce carbon penalty for corn. That has meant 60 lbs of UAN over the top with weed n feed in addition to fall applied NH3. However, I'm wondering if planting right over the NH3 band can alleviate the need for any topdressed N. By planting right over the NH3 band the plant should be able to tap right into an available ammonium or nitrate source when the nodal root system takes over. Assuming a clean strip with no residue incorporated, can I get by with just NH3 without weed n feed or planter applied UAN?
