I've been tracking some corn this year taking weekly tissue test since emergence. Two samples are comparing good soils vs bad soils, the other two are for a boron test strip to track the effectiveness of adding boron in my sidedress.
I added 5 lbs of Solubor(1 lb actual boron)/acre to my 32% that I applied with coulters and injection.
The corn was sidedress between week 3 and 4, and this is the first week I've seen any indication of response in my tissue test. All tissue samples went up a little, but HCN(no boron & yellow line) went up less than all other tissue samples. HCG & HCB are the soil comparison and they got around .5 lb of boron at sidedress.
This is just 1 week and it will be interesting to see what future weeks hold for these tests. If it is just a fluke or if its the start of a response. I'll be doing yield checks at harvest too. I updated the charts and data to reflect different "Normal" values. The testing and normal values are from Midwest Labs in Omaha
