Northeastern Pa
We have been trying for a while. Had great weather to get the rye straw done in the end of May. But when June came it all changed. Baled yesterday pretty good Timothy. It was cut Sunday afternoon. Got three tenths on it on Tuesday. Tedded three times and baled yesterday. Our crop is very poor. The worst here since 2002. I know jersey has a very poor crop of grass hay too. I believe anything will bring good money this year as long as it is sound. The orchard and broom is brown here so we skipped to the Timothy now. Going to come back and do it in August. If it keeps raining we will have a lot of second growth in it to give it a green color. Have done very well doing this in the past. Makes good Amish work horse hay.
