I live in McHenry, IL not too far from Barrington. The Machine Shed is great but if you choose to stay closer to Barrington, I'd recommend the Onion Pub and Brewery in Barrington or for a great burger the Tracks Bar and Grill in Cary. For a good steak try Beelow's in Lake Zurich. I'm taking my dad there for his birthday on Saturday.
