Prior to sales closing you can purchase the option to add 5 or 10% to your PP guarantee. For instance on an 80% soybean policy with a 50 bu APH your normal PP payment would be 50 bu x 80% x $9.73 x 60% = $233.52/acre. With the 10% option you would get 50 bu x 80% x $9.73 x 70% = $272.44/acre. In my area the cost has been running about $1-$1.25/acre. Not sure what the cost would be for you.
