Cab cams.

Backup cameras for vehicles.

Above are self contained, not to iPad. Compare prices.

I just got a Fiir FX that will stream to an iPad. $200. (Well its supposed to, I really -just- got it, haven't tested that part yet....)

The spendier models of GoPro will stream.

I'm sure others.

I would check out backup cameras, as they are intended for such a task and will just set up out of the box, they might have volume sales to make them cheaper? I don't know much about them.....

Ok, just tried out the direct to iPad wifi mode on the FX.(I've been using the Cloud option for the free month I get that option.) There is a bit of a delay as I move in front of the camera, that might be disconcerting. You would also need to power if from a battery connection, I think that is an additional $60 or so for the dash cam option. And it needs a housing to make it outdoor proof, additional coins.

Something to check out on these many new gadgets coming out. Just thinking out loud here....
