IL. | wife and I buy hamburger when it goes on sale in bulk (3-4# sizes) and then divide it into 1#1 1/4 packages and freeze, then take out and use, my question is this, when I seperate the ground burger into smaller sizes why does the meat under the bright red meat outer layer always look dark.
one package was nice bright red all the way through. is this how they get rid of the old meat?
never noticed it tasting different but what gives??
