I apologize for getting in here, as I'm not Jim, and can't/won't speak for him.

IMO, doing a tandem of a 6 row Pluribus and planter would be somewhat counter productive. One, like you mentioned, a rather long set up, but with ample headlands would be doable.

My concern would be the amount of "wetter" soil that the planter would have to deal with. Running 4-5" deep, in the spring, a fair amount of moist to wet soil is going to be brought up, the amount of "packing" done by the gauge wheels plus standard closing wheels "should" a dry spell develope, MIGHT be very detrimental to optimum seedling growing conditions.

Not sure if you are thinking of a mounted unit or not, but with the exact unit that Jim posted a while back running the pasture, I can tell you from first hand experiece (I've had that unit on my tractor) my 2590 Case with about 1000# in the rock box and loaded 18.4 X 16.1 front tires was extremely light on the front. Too light actually to be safe on road travel.

Jim's/other's opinion may vary, just speaking of my personal experience here.
