Benson, MN | Plump barley usually flows over a 5/64" x 3/4" slot screen. Good Cereal Rye will pass thru a 7/64" x 3/4" slot, so there is not much difference in thickness.
Best application would be a disc mill or indent cylinder separator. Separating by kernel length as rye is longer than Barley.
A gravity table would help somewhat, but would not be a complete separation. Barley test weight is 48#/bu and Rye is 56#/bu so the difference is not very significant. | |
