Best thing to keep stress off of an excavator boom when mowing is to use the head as a "potato masher" as much as possible. Or travel along and mow in front not much wider than the machine. I'm not disagreeing with your logic, but - that bucket full of dirt weighs a lot more then the mower head. So, reaching, digging and swinging to unload or throw the dirt, in my opinion, could be much harder then that lighter mower head mowing brush. Heck, they use excavators with hot saw cutter heads on them - they really take abuse and seems the swing is the last thing to get wore out . . .. . . I disagree with his dealer's advice ~ |
