southern Illinois | I do custom baling and I repair my own belts if they get to short to splice after you cut the lacing out just add a two foot piece in. You can run one belt shorter than the other.couple inches. I use Titan 05 splices and use jd lacing pins. Cost me about 30 a belt for splices. That not counting the initial cost of 300 for the splicing tool. I do not touch my belts unless I tear one. I usually have a extra belt so if I do I can install and get rolling again. If it is a long belt and I broke a short one you can still use it just route it like you would for a long one. You will not not believe how long them belts will run with cracks in them. Don't worry. . Don't buy new belts. . I have never bought new belts and run almost everyday during hay season when weather permitting. I've run jd balers since 1983 | |
