west central MN | I think it depends on what a person calls good crops also. I know there are guys that think last year was perfect weather and I am not so sure it was. We had one big corn producing state with excellent yields and the rest were pretty good but not perfect. If you look at trend line that is more like an average, not a top yield that takes perfect weather. The yield USDA is predicting is a little above trend line, not an excellent weather year. If you look at trend line there are just as many years above trend as there are below trend. I think it is pretty risky if you are marketing your crop by thinking we are never going to reach the USDA yield. |
