Looks like an incorrect form based on photos. I don't like mounts that looks surprised with big eyes. Deer on the right looks pretty dang good. I don't know a lot about taxidermy but I don't think much can be done after they have dried. Good luck but I still think a new cape, new taxidermist, and harvest photos are the only solution to make him right.
