Subject: RE: Field cultivating after ripper in fall

Floyd County, Iowa
Around "here", the guys that had the rolling baskets that smoothed it out, had quite a bit of dirt blowing. Last year was worse. But they definately had an advantage being able to spread fertilizer, work it once, plant corn. I know what you mean by wanting to go one pass in spring, but just won't work for me and my equipment.
As far as stalks going through, I would think they'd be tough and would wrap on the shanks, but then I don't know how small your ripper sizes trash before the shanks. I don't have experience with a true disk ripper, only a soil saver, and know it wouldn't work for me and my TM2. Sure sounds tempting, though!
