Iowa | I think the bigger problem is under fertilizing. Guys raise 180 Bu corn and 50 bu beans and put a 60-60 back on it. Then the next guys has to pay to build it back so it yields again.
You can get buy with not putting fertilizer on for a few years but as time goes on it will hurt your yields. I have worked with a lot of farmers over the years and looked at a lot of soil test results and can tell you for the farmers that put money back into their fertility program it does pay off in the long run. | |
