north central iowa | Have an oliver 1850 gas with one of those lousy marvel shebbler [sp.] carbs. Wouldn't run right, tried to get it rebuilt which didn't work. Ordered a new carb from All states Ag Parts and tried to put it on and the choke lever hit the side of the engine block. The new one had no markings on it and when I asked what was the brand name they knew nothing about it. Sent it back and got a rebuilt marvel shebbler and it did not work. Gas ran out of carb. They said they would send me another rebuilt one. I called a couple other places that specialize in those carbs for JD 4020s but they said the shafting and jetting is different even though they look the same.
My head hurts.
