Subject: 1st time with Cereal Rye

Kansas, IL 61933
Here are some pics of my first time with a cereal rye cover crop. It is approaching boot top high as of 4-25. You can see to the right in 1 pic where the plane ran out of seed before they covered the entire 74 acres. The stand is much thicker on the rest of the field. Having read a lot of posts here on NAT, I am convinced, at this point, to wait and plant it green and then kill it down. Can I go ahead and put my residual down when I kill the rye, or wait?My residual plan is 3 pints Matador, 1 qt Glyphosate, 1 oz sharpen, and 1pt /acre of MSO, that I will use as a burndown/residual on all other notill soybeans. I realize that I may have to eliminate the Sharpen if I wait till after I plant. TIA
