Go into device manager and see if you can find the USB ports. Do they have a yellow triangle indicating an issue?
It sounds a bit rash but you can un-install the USB port. When reboot windows should find the 'new' port and install drivers. You can also try updating the driver by right clicking the device and going in properties. I find windows usually says it can't find anything better but there is often a driver pack download on the makers website.
It's unlikely but not impossible you have a real hardware problem. There is probably some kind of driver/conflict issue. That's why un-installing the device and letting it be found like new might work best. At worst you still have a non-working USB like now. |
