NS Canada | One of the hardest sayings to adhere to as a farmer is - If you don't have time to do it right the first time, what makes you think you'll have the time to fix it.
That said, One of my biggest deciding factors when planting any sort of grass (I can live with a year of grain) is what sort of wheel tracks am I gonna leave in the field. It's just gonna grind my gears bouncing over them the next number of years if I planted too wet. Everytime I fertilize, mow, rake, ted, bale, gather bales.. etc.. there's a lot of years and a lot of trips over those wheel tracks if you put them there right from the start. Becomes a judgement call like most things around a farm. | |
