That's what I did with the FBB drill. Put alfalfa in the grass box and oats in the main box. And took off the seed tube for the grass seed. Seemed to work well. Then the last years I did that, I hitched a cultipacker behind the drill to get the alfalfa seed covered and in good ground contact.
