Subject: RE: depth of concrete for a bunk pad??

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

These fenceline feedbunks are on a sidehill.

I wasn't around when the additional width was added, but I'm sure it is pinned to other original concrete, or it would be worse than it already is.

I haul dirt back up to the concrete, after manure is removed; but between rainfall, sidehill, manure and cattle, it "washes" away from concrete slab.

At least, if your concrete, on the cattle side, is wide enough, then a person can haul some manure, even though you may not be able to get to the rest of the lot ( just 2wd tractors, here, so I can get to sliding, sideways, down the hillside, when it is slippery or the frost is coming out)

I got 7 loads hauled the other day, before it rained = that helped, a bunch, but had to load spreader, on the road = 2wd tractor wasn't going to get a full spreader load, out of the sidehill lot.= still too slick, for that much weight.
