We have an EPPS brand electric belt drive cold water washer with a stand alone down stream heater. The unit is on a two wheeled cart but it stays put most of the time. It has a 10 hp motor and pumps 4.9 gpm at 3000 psi. You can just run a bigger nozzle to reduce pressure. There is an unloader valve and a time delay switch. When you release the gun handle the pump will run for 30 seconds before the motor stops. I like that a lot because the motor does not stop and start every time you release or pull the gun handle. I was told electric pumps cost more because they do not make as many so the cost per unit is higher. I like electric power washers. No fumes or fuel. Just press play. Some pumps are rated for hot water. Again I was told they wear out faster with hot water and you have to watch that you don't crack the ceramic pistons by shocking the pump with hot or cold water. It should work just fine to run hot water. If it wears out a little sooner rebuilding a pump is not that big of a deal. |
