west central iowa | Yes I have a line of credit. I mentioned earlier that we bought damaged corn and a lot of it. So that helps out a lot on the cost of gain. That particular pen of steers has 250 pen mates. At first I was getting 800lbers for $1550 2 weeks ago, but since then the market has crept up some. The average for the pen is 770lbs for $1565. So we will see in sept. how things turn out. I will have some puts on them just in case. The 650 lb. heifer are targeted for nov. delivery. Going to be growing them awhile on a 54 mega-cal ration before pouring the corn to them. | |
