The work fine and are pretty cheap. This issue is getting in and out of them. I used one for hauling manure once and after 35 loads of in and out (especially if I reposition to load), I was ready for something easier to get in and out of. Shifters have a long linkage, but seem to work ok. Of course you could stick an allison automatic in it and make it great for pulling out of fields (old HT754 w/highway geared rear ends or newer/more work HD4000 w/whatever rear end - they have OD).
